That S*** Cray

So apparently I am not exactly cut out for blogging - my day to day at work involves SO MUCH writing and typing that I simply cannot bare to stare at a computer screen any more than I have to.  I am weaker than I had hoped.  As a result - my "blogging" has suffered and will likely continue to do so.  But you know what, I'm OK with that.  I will use it as I choose and not when I choose.

Today - I choose, as I have just returned from one of my very best friend, Ryan's BACHELORETTE PARTY in, where else, VEGAS.

The first few times I went to Vegas, I was not impressed.  But - oddly enough, the older I get, the more I appreciate it.  Or maybe it's just the fact that I don't get to just hang out with my friends like I used to, so when I get an ENTIRE weekend filled with dancing, pool time, booze, booze, and more booze, I jump - it is like a trip to Disneyland.  For "adults".

Good times were had by all, and even ended with the bride - our Rhino - in tears at the end of it, saying, "I don't want it to be over."  Not joking.  There were tears.  This is just one of the many reasons why I love Ryan so very much, and here are about 49 more.

*Family members, please proceed with caution.  Just kidding.  Sort of.

{fish filet}

{champagne "shots" before almost missing our flight.  for the first time}

{are we excited or WHAT?}

{yes, this is Sarah in a dance-off}

{and it begins}

{Ryan claiming her bed}

 {oh good, our stripper arrived.  just kidding}
{best spot in the house}

{"I'm never gonna leave!  I wanna stay here forever!"}

 {what time is it?  no clue}

{we're obviously busy}

{where are we?  don't worry about it}

...and the rest of them are just way. too. CRAY.

My Sister Thinks I'm A Bad Ass

Last week, my sister, Mal was in Colorado, and I randomly got these two picture iMessages with, "this is you!" as the message, from her...I guess she thinks I'm way cooler than I actually am.  I hope you are lucky enough to love your sister {if you have one} as much as I do mine.

Happy {stupid} Monday.

FURRRRR

I no longer get to partake in any of the NY Fashion Week festivities since my role at Quail came to an end back in 2010 {sigh}, so I vicariously relive the period in my career where it was my job to scour the countless blogs and style sites that I would zone out on for hours on end - what, it was research?!

Anyway, as I peruse, I save {images that is} and although I will likely never do anything with these images now {they will collect and rest in files on my desktop} for who knows how long, I find happiness knowing they are there.  I feel the connection to fashion that I will {likely} forever miss.  Oh well.  Life goes on.

Usually I will start off by categorizing these images, but there end up being far too many that I have pulled and saved, that I quickly get over labeling them all accurately.  Also, as much as I love the shows, my favorite part by far are the street shots and photos from the after parties.  That's where the good stuff is...it's less obvious, and way more personal - people bring their A-game for these events and Jak & Jil, Garance Doré, Style.com, and Refinery29 are some of my faves to creep on to make me feel a part of the action.

I was just looking through some of the images that I saved from the past couple of weeks, and oddly enough {well, not oddly enough if you know me} there was a definite trend in the shots that I chose to save.  Fur.  And not just regular fur.  Coloured fur.  So much of it and so, SO much goodness about it.

My love for fur is a moral issue that I continue to struggle with, because I do have sense of humane wrong doing for thoroughly enjoying and collecting {vintage} fur coats.  An unfortunate choice, probably on my behalf, since I live in one of the most mild climates on the planet that is Southern California.  Although, I must say {and as noted above}, that the only ones I buy myself {mainly because it's all I can afford} are used - thrift store/vintage shop/flea market - I have a thing for them.  I tell myself it's not as bad since somebody {maybe/probably more than one somebody} has already worn it and it's recycled goods that is just waiting to be re-worn.

Either way, good or bad, here they are - some of my favorites from Fall '12 Fashion Week{s}...maybe you will enjoy this visual candy as much as I do.  Maybe you won't.  Either way, the good thing is that I'm bloggin'.  And that's never a bad thing for the soul.

***I am not claiming any credit for these shots.  These photos are a combination of images from Style.com, Garance Doré, Tommy Ton for Style.com, and Jak & Jil {links listed above}***
